Home Wildfire Defender was founded by James Young in the wake of the catastrophic Los Angeles fires this last January, 2025 where over 16,000 homes were lost and the city burned for over a month, leaving thousands of residents, many of them under insured, homeless. The scale and scope of the disaster created an "ah ha" moment for James. "What happened in LA could happen in Marin, and right here in Homestead Valley, under the right conditions.

Certified by the National Fire Prevention Association as a Wildfire Mitigation Specialist, James is available to inspect your property and provide you with actionable strategies to harden your property against wildfire. He is also available to facilitate your home selling process by streamlining compliance with current wildfire disclosure regulations. Finally, James represents homeowners facing insurance policy cancellations or premium hikes.
